Water cooled elements
Water cooled elements with protective cover are elaborated. Cover promotes decrease of panel oxidation, crack formation and heat loss.

EAF charge
A new technology base and approptiate equipment for carbon-thermal reduction of iron containing technogeny wastes is elaborated in order to utilize these wastes in capacity of part of the EAF charge.

EAF off gas suction elbow
EAF off gas suction elbow with a system of primary dust removal is elaborated. It provides a possibility of metal charge burning decrease due to partial return of heavy particles into the EAF.
 
Special solutions for small EAF


The off gas suction system developed by our Company can be established instead of existing portal system, characteristic for majority electrical arc furnaces (EAF) with capacity 1,5-12 ton. Lacks of portal gas suction system is the raised charge of graphite electrodes and low ecological efficiency, especially in conditions of an intensification of heats with use burners and oxygen for a purge of a bath. The raised charge of electrodes is caused by character of movement of oxidizing high-temperature gases (oxygen, carbon dioxide) in electrode gaps. Thus the lateral surface of electrodes is exposed to oxidizing influence. Low ecological compatibility at intensive operation mode of the EAF is shown in the raised unorganized off gas emissions through electrode gaps. This consequence of inefficient transfer to working space of the furnace of under pressure in special ducting, installed around electrodes in view of essential inflows of atmospheric air.

On arc furnaces of high capacity apply off gas suction system through an aperture in the roof by means of suction elbow, which connected with the post combustion chamber and subsequent units and a path of the fumes plant. However using of such of gas suction system on rather low-power and small size furnaces, operating mainly on classical two-slag technology is unjustified and will result in raised removal of heat from the furnace and to oxidation of the melt by pumped atmospheric air over the furnace working space.

We solve a problem of increase of ecological compatibility of work of the furnace and decrease of graphite electrodes consumption by using of the presented decision of the combined off gas suction system. In it the stream of dusty off gas evacuated from furnace (Q) is divided on the basic component (Q1) evacuating through an aperture in the roof, Inevitable component of unorganized emissions through electrode backlashes (Q2) and inflows of atmospheric air in exhaust ducting above furnace (Q3). In streams Q1, Q2 about half of its values are air inflows in working space of the furnace through leakiness. The system is adjusted on an optimum parity of the off gas components and promotes decrease in unorganized emissions and reduction of the charge of electrodes at the minimal influence on applied steelmaking technology.
